Invest in Skåne takes the lead on a new EU financed project with a focus on strengthening the export capacity of creative and cultural industries.
Building Creative Entrepreneurs' Capacity
Invest in Skåne has received funding from the European Union and the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth (Tillväxtverket) for a new, 3-year project operating in the realm of creative and cultural industries.
The purpose of the project is to strengthen the export capacity in small and medium sized businesses within cultural and creative sectors in southern Sweden.
The project, called Southern Sweden Creatives, will support local entrepreneurs in increasing their international presence. It will do this through encouraging professional development of entrepreneurs, as well as, participation in international arenas such as exhibitions, conferences and festivals.
Another aim of the project is to improve synergies between public actors that provide support for start-ups and creative entrepreneurs.
"We want to make sure that creative entrepreneurs are taking advantage of the many resources available to them." says Karin Benjaminsson, Business Development Manager at Invest in Skåne and Project Lead.
Benjaminsson explains that the project will seek to improve relations between public services and entrepreneurs by creating a strategic platform that will work as a node for business development. This will allow companies to access expert support and ensure they receive the necessary tools to bring their production to a level that will allow them to become more international.
"Southern Sweden is budding with creative and innovative people; Southern Sweden Creatives will allow us to harness the momemtum of these personalities, businesses and projects. These industries offer a significant export potential for Sweden." says Benjaminsson.
Companies interested in participating in the project, or who want more information as the project progresses can join our mailing list for updates; contact Project Lead, Karin Benjaminsson directly; or reach out to any of the partner organisations (listed below).
