What are personal data?

Personal data refer to information that relates in one way or another to your person, either directly or indirectly. This can be a name, e-mail address, telephone number, postal address or date of birth. Photos are also a form of personal data, if you are discernible in the picture.

What does the processing of personal data involve?

The processing of personal data involves, for example, the collection, registration, dissemination, and deletion of data.

Why do we process your personal data?

Invest in Skåne may process your data based on different legal grounds in different situations. For example, in order to carry out a task of public interest; as a part of exercising an authority vested in us from a government, or to fulfil a legal obligation.

In some cases, Invest in Skåne may need your consent to process your personal data. When you give your consent, you should always ask to be given clear information about what you are giving your consent to.

We may need your personal data for the following purposes:

  • To carry out our duties towards you.
  • To be able to offer well-functioning, efficient and simple services.
  • To be able to respond to queries submitted.
  • To be able to manage orders you place.
  • To be able to register your participation in seminars, training courses and similar.
  • To carry out voluntary investigations.
  • To send you newsletters and subscription mailings.

Who views your personal data?

Your personal data may be accessed by the employees of Invest in Skåne, who need to view your personal data in order to carry out their work. We do not disclose your personal data to other parties if we are not obliged to do so by a law, regulation or decision by a public authority or to protect our rights or third-party rights.

Public documents

Invest in Skåne is bound by the principle of transparency. This means that certain documents may be deemed ‘public documents’ (i.e. documents that are received, drawn up or retained by a public authority) that Invest in Skåne must disclose on request. A confidentiality assessment is carried out before disclosure in accordance with the law.

IT suppliers

To enable your personal data to be technically processed, they will be transferred to the IT suppliers that provide our platforms. In these cases, we have placed strict requirements on the supplier to assure us that they process the data in a secure way.

Third country

Should your personal data be processed outside the EU/EEA area (in a third country), we will inform you of this. In such case, the processing complies with the regulations set forth in the General Data Protection Legislation.

External operators

Invest in Skåne is not responsible for external operators’ own processing of personal data. We have the option, however, of imposing requirements for how these organisations should conduct their operations when commissioned to do so by Invest in Skåne. An example of an external operator is the Swedish Agency for Economic and Regional Growth (Tillväxtverket).

How long do we save your personal data?

We save your personal data for as long as there is a purpose to the processing. When this purpose or objective is no longer relevant, for example, if an agreement is no longer valid or the case is completed, your personal data will be processed in accordance with the legal regulations that apply to archiving. These regulations are based on the archiving law (1990:782) and Region Skåne’s regulatory framework for archives and information management, and govern how and to what extent we may delete or save information.

What are your rights?

When your personal data are processed by us, you have certain rights. Special regulations for how we process public documents and records may affect these rights in different ways. Invest in Skåne accepts all applications to exercise your rights and will review and act upon your request according to the General Data Protection Regulation and other applicable laws.

You have the right to receive information on how we process your personal data. You also have the right to receive a copy of all the personal data that Region Skåne processes about you, a so-called register excerpt.

Other information

You have the right to have incorrect personal data corrected or to have incomplete personal data supplemented.

Deleting information

In certain cases, you have the right to have personal data deleted. This is also known as “the right to be forgotten”. In these cases, Business Region Skåne shall delete the data without undue delay.
